Denis Thomas is in charge of EU Regulatory Affairs & Business Development activities for renewable hydrogen at Hydrogenics, a world-wide leading provider of electrolyzers and hydrogen fuel cells.
Mr. Thomas represents Hydrogenics at Hydrogen Europe, the European Association for Storage of Energy (EASE) and the European Power-to-Gas Platform. He was coordinating the project ‘Power-to-Gas roadmap for Flanders’ in Belgium.
Before joining Hydrogenics in 2014, Mr. Thomas has worked 8 years in the solar photovoltaic sector in Belgium and at European level within the European Photovoltaic Industry Association. Mr. Thomas holds a Master Degree in Business Administration and a European Master Degree in Renewable Energy.

Bill has just over 30 years of experience serving as either Chief Financial Officer for Fortune 500 companies or COO/CCO & CFO for fast growth Mid-Cap companies in both the East Coast and Silicon Valley. Bill joined Bloom in March 2008 as its Chief Financial Officer and Chief Commercial Officer and focused on financing Bloom’s growth and the development of Bloom’s operations, administrative and commercial infrastructure for the first seven years. In 2015, Bloom’s Board asked Bill to focus his efforts on the development of Bloom’s international business, and as such, Bill now operates as the Chief Commercial Officer responsible for the development & management of Bloom’s international business and the structured finance team. Kurtz started his career on the East Coast as a CPA with PriceWaterhouse (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers,LLC) and then joined AT&T where he rose up the ranks during his 15 year career. He became a Corporate Officer at age 39 and held several high profile positions. Two of significance were AT&T Cost Czar, where he was responsible for AT&T's world-wide cost reduction program, and VP and Financial Officer of AT&T's $25B Business Markets Division. Bill also led the financial negotiations for the $15B acquisition of McCaw Cellular. Kurtz left AT&T and moved to the Silicon Valley in 1998 and has operated as either COO & CFO or CCO & CFO of several fast growth start-ups, including Scient Corporation and 3PARdata that successfully made the transition from private to successful public, profitable companies. Prior to joining Bloom, Kurtz operated as EVP & CFO at Novellus Systems, Inc., a $2B global semiconductor equipment company, where he led the company’s focus on improving its profitability and cash flow. Bill currently also serves on the Board of Directors and is Chair of the Audit Committee for Verint Corporation, an NYSE listed public company. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce (major in Accounting) from Rider University and a Master’s degree in Management Sciences from Stanford University.

After 15 years of projects in Telecom & IT industries in different countries across Europe, Ouahcene joined Alstom as a Project Director in France and then took global responsibility for business development of the Infrastructure division, before joining Alstom UK.

Ouahcene’s current challenge is to manage Innovation for Alstom UK, with a particular focus on Intelligent Mobility, energy efficiency and Open Innovation.

Nick is Market Development Manager for BOC’s (a member of the Linde Group) clean fuels business in the UK.

BOC is the largest industrial gases company in the UK. Their clean fuels business incorporates Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) and Hydrogen as both a fuel for transportation and for off grid application.

Having joined BOC in 1994 from Xerox, Nick has held a number of sales roles within BOC’s key customer segments, bulk liquid sales and new business development. More recently he has been heavily involved in the successful start up of an LNG business and was responsible for sales activities where he has worked on some of the largest LNG truck projects in Europe.

As Market Development Manager he is now responsible for driving the clean fuels strategy, which includes developing BOC’s interests in Hydrogen mobility in the UK & Ireland.

Short Biography for the website Dr Enrique Troncoso is a senior engineering consultant and has worked in technology & product development for over 15 years, including 7 years as a project leader with Boeing Research & Technology. His background includes technical project management, technology development and due diligence and alignment of technology & business roadmaps. He has worked mainly in the areas of energy storage, grid integration of renewables, smartgrids & microgrids, hydrogen & fuel cell technologies and low carbon transport. Ongoing work with Boeing includes strategic advice and steering of technology development, as well as technical project management on hydrogen and fuel cell technologies, microgrids and energy storage.

Enrique has successfully developed several public/private partnerships and secured funding for collaborative projects and technology R&D programs with leading US and EU companies, SMEs and Research Organizations. He is a regular speaker at international events and works as a consultant for the European Commission including REA, INEA, and the Fuel Cell & Hydrogen Joint Undertaking. Enrique holds a PhD on applied electrolysis and its applications to provide ancillary power services.

Lisa is a Senior Consultant at Element Energy focusing on hydrogen technologies for transport and stationary applications. She leads many of Element Energy’s projects in this area, looking after projects forming, consortium management and project coordination.

She is currently coordinating a number of large European demonstration projects focusing on deployment and commercialisation of fuel cell vehicles and fuel cell micro combined heat and power systems. These include the Hydrogen Mobility Europe projects, which aim to create the first truly European network of refuelling stations and contribute significantly to increasing the number of fuel cell vehicles on the roads.

Bill joined Logan Energy Limited in 2008 as Director of Operations and became Managing Director and CEO in 2012. Bill is responsible for driving the business of Logan Energy in the UK, Europe and further afield. This encompasses the negotiations and advising on new business contracts, relevant partnerships and overseeing the application of hydrogen and fuel cell solutions in low energy building and infrastructure designs, energy storage and hydrogen refuelling. Bill has a major role in the design and implementation of all of Logan’s recent projects; two 200kWe PAFCs one at Transport for London’s Palestra building and the other at SSE’s southern HQ at Penner Road, Havant; and two 300kWe MCFCs one at The Crown Estate’s Quadrant 3 development in Regent Street and the other at the Land Securities/Canary Wharf Group JV development at 20 Fenchurch Street, London.
Bill is an intrinsic part of Logan’s team delivering their most recent contract award for the design, integration, installation and operation of two mobile hydrogen refuelling stations and a hydrogen based energy storage system that form the keystone of the Levenmouth Community Energy Project.
Bill believes that proven hydrogen and fuel cell technologies integrated with existing energy and transport systems will play an increasing role in our future energy solutions, providing lower cost, security of supply, and alternative transport fuels delivering reduction in carbon dioxide and other pollutant emissions.

She also launched the UK’s Knowledge Transfer Network for hydrogen and fuel cells and, through this, delivered a wide range of activities to support hydrogen and fuel cell development and deployment in the UK for over 8 years. As CEO of Synnogy, Celia has over 13 years’ experience in supporting strategic thinking on new energy for a range of blue-chip companies and leading public sector bodies through the New Energy Forum.

Dr Michaela Kendall is a research scientist with 25 years international experience, and 100 international publications, including the Elsevier book Solid Oxide Fuel Cells for the 21st Century: Fundamental, Design and Applications (2015) and 80 journal papers. Dr Kendall was Assistant Professor of Environmental Medicine at New York University at the age of 30, and has since held Faculty-level positions in America, Asia and Europe. After 15+ years of studying environmental problems related to the health effects of air pollution, she now develops green energy technology solutions and environmental policy tools to improve air quality. Her current projects integrate academia and business with the aim of reducing atmospheric emissions from combustion by using fuel cells. The projects are a mix of EC funded projects under FP7 and H2020, plus cleantech commercialisation projects supported by industry. Adelan is a small fuel cells business co-founded in the late 1990s by Dr Kendall, and is a privately held cleantech company.

Amanda has nearly 15 years’ experience in the hydrogen and fuel cell technology industry, having previously founded ACAL Energy and working through her consultancy business Burgundy Gold Ltd as a specialist in the commercialisation of clean tech businesses. Her career spanning over 20 years includes various positions at ICI Chemicals and Polymers, particularly Chlor Alkali, which produces hydrogen as a bi-product of the chlorine production process. She is a Director of the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise partnership and Deputy-Chair of UK Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association. She is currently Managing Director of ULEMCo Ltd, the company championing and commercialising hydrogen combustion technology for transport applications, particularly large vans, HGV and other heavy duty vehicles, primarily using the globally innovative approach to hydrogen dual fuel, H2ICED® where the hydrogen is mixed with diesel to reduce emissions, and still delivers a practical vehicle for the market today.

Mike is a Principal Consultant at Element Energy and has eight years’ experience working across the low carbon energy sector. In recent years Mike’s work has focused on hydrogen transport and he has led many of Element Energy’s activities in this area, which include project initiation, consortium building, and securing funding, through to project implementation, monitoring and data analysis.

Since 2015 Mike has managed a number of projects aimed at delivering coordinated deployment of fuel cell buses across Europe as part of efforts to commercialise this zero emission technology.

Short Biography for the website Manfred Limbrunner joined Proton Motor in November 2000 as a design engineer and project manager for various mobile and maritime projects. In his early years he was also in charge of the systems engineering and the homologation of the Fuel Cell Hybrid Systems of Proton Motor. As PM developed further he formed and led the design department, played a significant role in implementing the quality management system and rotated in October 2009 to the product management position, until he was appointed as CTO in March 2011. Also he had the COO position in the timeframe from Mai 2012 until October 2015. In December 2016 Manfred was given the position to lead new installed Mobile Business Unit. In this position he also coordinates the Chinese activities of Proton Motor.
Prior to joining Proton Motor, Manfred Limbrunner worked for 5 years in the pulp & paper plant engineering business. His main duties and responsibilities were in the design of complex plant sub assembly groups, supervising their mounting through external suppliers, plant engineering, customer support, supervising the mounting team as well as the project management.
Manfred Limbrunner studied mechanical engineering with a focus on design at the university of applied science in Kempten an started his career at Hoerbiger Fluidtechnik GmbH in 1995.

Clare is a consultant at Ecuity Consulting where she manages the Hydrogen Hub. The Hydrogen Hub is a business led market development vehicle for the hydrogen and fuel cell industry.

Before managing Hydrogen Hub, Clare managed an EU grant program working with businesses to increase the energy efficiency of their buildings. She has also worked as a Sustainability Consultant helping major retailers benchmark and reduce the carbon footprint of their packaging and also comply with regulations across the EU.

Chris Dudfield is the Chief Technology Officer at Intelligent Energy. Chris is also a member of the Intelligent Energy Executive management team, which reports to the Main Board.

Chris has worked at Intelligent Energy since the launch of the business in 2001. Over the last 15 years Chris has worked in a number of positions including R&D Director, Director of Operations and Director of Programmes.

Chris has worked continuously in the field of fuel cell technology since 1990, covering experience in fuel cell stack, fuel processing and fuel cell systems technology.

Prior to joining Proton OnSite, Mr. Bow provided sales and marketing consulting services through his company, Sales Growth Solutions which specialized in a science based and metrics driven sales and marketing management. Prior to founding Sales Growth Solutions Mr. Bow was Senior Vice President - Global Commercial Development of Cosa Instrument Corporation. Prior to working at Cosa, Mr. Bow worked at Dionex Corporation as Vice President - Sales, Service and Marketing. Early in his career Mr. Bow was with Dow Pharma where he held various positions of increasing responsibility in engineering and operations management. Mr. Bow Founded Advanced Fine Chemicals and Buffers & Biochemicals Corporation where he was granted patents in the fields of bipolar electrochemistry chemical and biologics purification methods.
